In late winter and early spring, cyclamen coum are one of the first to bloom and when summer plants are fading, the autumn flowering varieties are just beginning to burst into flower. Cyclamen provide long lasting color when little else is available. Ideally suited beneath trees in partial shade, they will seed and spread very quickly, not only producing attractive flowers, but exquisitely patterned leaves until long after flowering. Cyclamen require very shallow planting and good drainage for best results.
